In these three days I have had more glitters on my body than I had all together in my entire life. Most girls like working with glitters, and since I was there to help them with that, I had also glitters all over my body. Also I grimmed for the first time in my life a child, butt his wasn't a real success. But next to that I also learned some ‘real’ things. Like how it is to work in an animation team. You should be happy all the time, and that’s not too difficult for me, but also when you are not very happy you should laugh. You should pretend like you like the work, even if you don’t. But also this was not too hard for me since I liked most of the things I’ve done. I worked with children and adults, and both of them I liked. With adults you can have somewhat more serious conversations but also I loved to work with the children. Seeing their faces full of joy when showing their drawing or their little artwork. And they even become happier when you say that it’s beautiful. And then you can do nothing but smile since it just feels so good to see children so happy. And not all children were the easiest of course, and when there was someone who walked away or who was on purpose irritating me I still should stay nice and polite. I was not sure whether I could handle with such situations good but I managed to stay nice and polite and also to keep the children calm. So this is definitely a thing that I learned and that can be very useful. But also I feel like I can communicate easier with strangers than before. It was actually very easy to just start talking. But that was also because no one knows me and I was wearing that beautiful outfit shouting ‘say hello to me’ and then people also expect you to say something. At least, it feels that way. And I have had conversations with all sort of people, young and old, and I was getting better at holding these conversations throughout the days. The only problem I met during my intership was the German language. I am not that good in German and when there were German children in the Bollo club I had difficulty having a conversation with them.
Anyway I had a great time! I liked it more and more throughout the days and I can look back at it with a good feeling. The thing I liked the most was being Bollo and guiding Bollo. This is definitely something I’ll never forget and it just makes you feel so happy. It’s difficult to explain, but I’m really glad that I got the chance to be a bear, and then bear Bollo, maybe the most famous bear that exists. Definitely an once in a life time. Also the people of the fun & entertainment team were all amazing people and they were also really open to me and saw me like one of the team although I was only there for 3 days. Also I’m very glad with that.
I’m happy that I’ve completed my intership and now I can enjoy another 3 weeks of holiday!
Love,
Lieke
